Black History & Cultural Presentations

Our cultural presentations highlight African-Canadian stories along with the intertwined stories of the Native, European and African people who have lived on this land for the last five centuries.

With a history of community uplift that started with involvement in PRUDE Inc. in the 1990s and early 2000s, we have dedicated ourselves to enriching our community through both Black Rose Nation's products and services, as well as through our local cultural history presentations.

Ever heard the true story of the Black Loyalist who, in the late 1700s, walked with other Black Loyalists all the way from Grand Bay to Halifax to catch a boat to Sierra Leone? What about the story of the nation's first Canadian-born Black lawyer, who was born and grew up in nearby Bellisle?

These histories (and more) are only a fraction of what you will learn when you attend one of our history presentations. We also offer additional, non-history-related training that we think would benefit our community. Check out our offerings:

  • New Brunswick Black history

  • Kwanzaa

  • Financial literacy
